« Back to I'll Never Be Long Gone | | jane dutton | your new book | | 11/16/2005 08:52 AM | Tom, I love your new book. I also love the fact that you come from Worcester. I live in Worcester and am the director of the Holden Library. Believe me, I will be telling our patrons to read your book. I couldn't put it down. Congratulations. |

Imagine my bemusement to discover that it has large chunks from the first book of yours that I read some two years back called 'After the Rain'. Can you enlighten me why 'I'll Never be Long Gone' appears to be a re-worked version of 'After the Rain' and yet I can find no reference to this in your 'new' book? I am hugely disappointed that what I thought was a new book is not new at all. |

I worked with a different editor here, and we went through a revision and it was published as I'LL NEVER BE LONG GONE here since AFTER THE RAIN was the title of another book coming out from my publisher. So, yes, it is essentially the same book. My third novel, ENVIOUS MOON, will be published in the states next May. Since you bought my second one twice, how about I send you an autographed advanced readers copy of ENVIOUS MOON when they are printed in the next month or so? If you're interested, e-mail me your mailing address using the "contact me" page. All best, Tom |
