Also the extreme winters. Being from CA that isn't something I've ever experienced. I like writing t/u's to authors, but usually do it snail mail. Gives me a chance to think about how a book impacts thinking, and feel a connection in some small measure to the literary world, a suggestion from Carolyn See.
